What will you be doing?
As a Cultivation and R&D Assistant, you will be at the foundation of new developments and the continuous improvement of blackberry cultivation. You will combine practical cultivation tasks with research and data analysis, with the opportunity to grow into the role of grower. You will be involved in expanding and optimizing the in-house propagation of blackberry plants.
Key responsibilities
- Plant measurements and monitoring of crops and fruits, climate control, and fertilization
- Actively contributing to the setup and execution of trials to optimize cultivation strategies
- Sharing responsibility for the IPM policy. You possess a pesticide application license or are willing to obtain one
- Collaborating with the cultivation specialist in the daily cultivation process and during cultivation meetings
- After an initial training period, you will participate in weekend and on-call shifts approximately every 4 to 5 weeks
- The Berkel en Rodenrijs location for cultivation and the Bleiswijk location for propagation. Work is performed on-site

What do you bring?
- Bachelor’s (HBO) or Vocational (MBO-4) level of thinking and working, preferably in horticulture
- Preferably experience in greenhouse horticulture
- Experience with climate and irrigation control, conducting trials, and basic knowledge of pests and diseases
- Accurate, eager to learn, analytical, and a team player
- Good communication skills and proficiency in the Dutch language
